ABOUT CEDARLANDS SCOUT RESERVATION

Cedarlands' 5,000 acres of mountains, lakes and wilderness make it the largest Scout camp in he Adirondacks. Hike Cedarlands' three mountains -- OA, Walker and Masters -- on the Skyline Trail. Explore the islands on Lake McRorie and Scout Pond. Hike or paddle to Long Lake, or enjoy the Cedarlands Rock Climbing and Rappelling program. The Cedarlands base camp has the facilities of a modern patrol-cooking Scout camp, while the backcountry is true wilderness.   You can enjoy a new scout base camp program and include an outpost trip of hiking and/or canoeing all with out leaving camp.

THE PROGRAM

Your troop's Patrol Leaders Council decides on the troop's program and then you plan your merit badge program. This flexibility allows you to make the most of your time at Cedarlands.

THE FOOD

Around camp, you can select the meals your troop eats. That way, your Patrol Leaders Council can decide to have a quick, hit-the-trail breakfast on the day you climb Mount Masters and you can cook a more elaborate dutch-oven delight the night you have more time in base camp.

HIGH ADVENTURE TREKS

Explore the largest wilderness area in the eastern United States! Remote rivers and lake, mile-high mountains and endless woods will challenge the most experienced Scouts. Camp-provided Voyageur guides, expert outdoorsmen with special training, assure the success and enjoyment of every trek. These Voyageur guides are provided for every troop planning a trek from Cedarlands of one week or longer.  Special programs can include rock climbing and rappelling, sailing...even a seaplane flight can be included in your troops' trek adventure. On your trek, we provide a special time-tested menu combining trail food and retail food for nutritionally balanced and easy to prepare meals.

THE FUN

Hey, it's not all work at Cedarlands. Part of the fun is laughing with your friends at a campfire, enjoying a break at the trading post, playing in a friendly volleyball game, or cheering on a friend as he works his way along the climbing wall or Tupper Rocks. Cedarlands isn't school, schedules and seriousness.
